A set of universal, language independent wayfinding pictograms to be used in any post-catastrophic environment.

The set of Survicons is divided in three categories: direction, location and warning. Direction is indicated by a circle. Location is indicated by a square, and warnings are placed in a triangle. In order to achieve optimal legibility, a clear, realistic representation of the human characters was chosen. The male/female symbols can be combined with, for instance, the toilet or shower pictogram.
